Enlightened Proudly Supports Launch of the First Young Black Male Entrepreneur Program in Washington DC
WASHINGTON (June 8): Enlightened, Inc. (“Enlightened”), a leading provider of Information Technology (IT) consulting services, announced today its sponsorship and support for the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. (USBC) launch of the first Young Black Male Entrepreneur Institute program. The program was kicked off at an event hosted by Black Enterprise magazine at the City Club of Washington, DC.
Private sector organizations including the USBC, Enlightened, Inc., DC Chamber of Commerce and Clyburn Consulting LLC partnered to address the economic disparity among Black youth and share advice on building successful businesses to more than 40 up and coming young black male entrepreneurs.
The purpose of this pilot initiative is to ensure both seasoned and novice young Black male entrepreneurs have the opportunity to experience a specialized curriculum derived from our nation’s top business schools and business development experts in the region; and have access to resources and support to help sustain their businesses through the USBC affiliation.
“The fundamental goal of this institute is to guide, mentor and prepare Black male entrepreneurs for a bright and successful future,” said Antwanye Ford, President & CEO of Enlightened. “We are committed to supporting Black male entrepreneurs and the USBC’s initiative; and hope to see the program expand to every city in the nation.”
Collectively, the private sector partners will provide the institute’s infrastructure to create more minority businesses and jobs in the nation’s capital and beyond.
