Enlightened Establishes the John and Katherine Ford Fund to Rebuild Ferguson
THE JOHN AND KATHERINE FORD FUND SUPPORTS BUSINESS RESTORATION AND EDUCATION IN FERGUSON, MISSOURI.
WASHINGTON (March 18): Enlightened, Inc. (“Enlightened”), a leading provider of Information Technology (IT) consulting services, is pleased to announce their partnership with the Believers Temple Word Fellowship Urban Initiative of Saint Louis, Missouri in establishing the John and Katherine Ford Fund to support rebuilding efforts in Ferguson, Missouri.
The John and Katherine Ford Fund comprises a Business Restoration Fund and an Education Support Fund. The Business Restoration Fund provides grants to aid struggling businesses damaged or destroyed by the November riots. Bishop Calvin Scott of the Believers Temple Word Fellowship Urban Initiative said, “This fund is a call to the Black community and the community-at-large to turn a negative into a positive.” Businesses will complete a brief grant request for assistance in the restoration of their businesses. Monies acquired can be used to address: revenue loss based on riot or fire, structural damage due to riot or fire, as well as insurance compensation grant which will compensate for the insurance deductible some businesses have found difficult to pay.
The second initiative, the Education Support Fund, will be an investment in youth development. This fund will finance tutoring programs, afterschool care, and scholarships for youth; expanding the educational and career opportunities for low-income youth.
