ENLIGHTENED NAMES WILLIAM LOUIS PETERSON AS THE NEW OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

WASHINGTON (September 21): Enlightened, Inc. ("Enlightened"), a leading provider of Information Technology (IT) consulting services, announced today it has named William Louis Peterson as the new Operations Director of the firm. Mr. Peterson joins Enlightened from the Department of Energy (DOE) where he previously served as Director of the Capital Inspection Region under the Office of Inspector General.

In his previous role as the Director of Capital Inspection Region, Mr. Peterson was responsible for reviewing programs and performance within the DOE and providing recommendations to enhance operations. Prior to DOE, Mr. Peterson actively served in the United States Navy for twenty four years. During Louis’ military term he worked in several positions including, Assistant Inspector General for Fleet Support, Chief of Naval Operations Fellow to the Center for Naval Analyses, and Commanding Officer at the Naval Submarine Support Center, Norfolk Naval Station. As Commanding Officer, Mr. Peterson managed all submarine support to include logistics, administration, and operations. Faced with a 35 percent budget reduction, Mr. Peterson initiated cost saving measures resulting in a reduction of over $6.5 million in operating costs without affecting submarine force operational readiness.

Mr. Peterson holds several decorations for his extraordinary service in the Navy including the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal. Mr. Peterson has extensive background in identifying and providing organizational development solutions focusing on operations, logistics, personnel management, and high-performance technology.
