ENLIGHTENED EMPLOYEE AKISHA CAMPBELL AWARDED NFTE GREATER WASHINGTON VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD

WASHINGTON (MAY 28): Enlightened, Inc. ("Enlightened"), a leading provider of Information Technology (IT) consulting services, is pleased to announce that Akisha Campbell, an Enlightened Program Manager from Washington, DC., was recently awarded the Volunteer of the Year award by the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) for her dedication and commitment to the program and its students.

NFTE, founded in 1987, helps young people from low-income communities become economically productive members of society by building skills and exploring entrepreneurial creativity. The students study business concepts to work on completing business plans for their own individual business. NFTE was formed on the principle of helping youth explore career and educational opportunities.

As a volunteer of NFTE, Ms. Campbell worked to bring “real world” experience to the students through both in-class and out-of-school activities. She organized and conducted customer satisfaction sessions, marketing lectures, job shadowing events, offered assistance with the students’ business plans, and hosted a selling event.

“I am honored to have been recognized with this award. Supporting the NFTE students has been a truly rewarding experience,” said Akisha Campbell. “The students were a joy to work with and I look forward to continuing my support of the NFTE program.”

Additionally, Enlightened, a member of NFTE, has supported the program for over three years. This year Enlightened adopted Hyde Public Charter School in the District of Columbia through NFTE’s Adopt-A-Class Program. As a NFTE Adopter, Enlightened provides full financial resources for the class as well as having corporate personnel mentor the students.
