Mayor Bowser Launches Summer Youth Employment Program 2015
Mayor Muriel Bowser hosts a round table with Marion S. Barry Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) participants at Enlightened, Inc.
Enlightened is a HUBZone certified, information technology and management consulting firm that will host eleven SYEP youth ages 15 – 24 this summer.
Today marks the first day of the six-week internship program for more than 15,000 participants. Mayor Bowser expanded the program this year to include 1,000 jobs for participants ages 22-24 years old. In addition to SYEP internship placements, youth ages 22-24 will be connected to a wide array of programs and services to help put them on pathways to the middle class.
